The Sandvik Hydrocone H7800 crusher is a high‑capacity, heavy‑duty hydraulic cone crusher widely used in large‑scale quarrying, mining, and aggregate production lines. Its overall crushing performance, hourly output, finished product grain shape, and Sandvik Rock Crusher CH870 liner service life heavily depend on one critical factor: Sandvik Stone Crusher CH870 cavity selection. Most quarry operators commonly struggle with uneven liner wear, frequent crusher blockages, poor aggregate shape and unexpected downtime — very often caused by mismatched cavity profiles.
What Chambers Are Available for CH870?

Core Rules to Select CH870 Chamber
Match crushing stage
1. Secondary crushing: Select EC / C: handle large incoming run‑of‑mine or primary‑crushed rock
2. Tertiary crushing: Select MC / M / MF, most aggregate production lines
3. Pebble /quaternary: Select F / EF, strictly control max feed size entering chamber
Feed size rule
1. Maximum feed entering crusher should not exceed 80% of cavity nominal feed opening.
2. If oversized material keeps feeding into a fine cavity: frequent bridging, blockage, rapid one‑sided liner wear.
Closed‑Side Setting (CSS) matching
1. Each cavity has its minimum working CSS. Do NOT run CSS smaller than cavity minimum value.
2. Running too tight CSS on coarse cavity leads to packing, high power draw and drastically shorten liner lifespan.
Material hardness
1. Hard, abrasive rock (granite, basalt, iron ore): choose slightly coarser cavity, avoid over‑crushing inside chamber.
2. Soft rock (limestone): can run relatively fine cavity for good product shape.
Typical Field Mistakes
1. Use one cavity for all conditions: keep using EC cavity when feed size drops, output fine product with poor grain shape.
2. Run fine cavity with oversize feed: liners wear uneven, frequent downtime.
3. Ignore eccentric throw cooperation: cavity profile must work together with eccentric throw to get target tonnage.
