That part is the torch ring – also known as the burning ring or spacer ring, depending on the brand. Do you know why it matters for your crusher parts inventory?

Torch Ring: A Small Part with a Big Job
In cone crusher maintenance, the component that sits between the mantle lock nut and the mantle goes by different names depending on the brand. For the multi-cylinder HP series, it is commonly called Torch Ring. Suitable for Metso single-cylinder crushers, it is often referred to as the Spacer Ring. Suitable for Sandvik tends to use the Burning Ring, while suitable for Telsmith and suitable for Trio also have similar parts under various names. Regardless of what you call it, its function is the same: to act as a sacrificial spacer that allows safe removal of the mantle during liner change.

Why Is It Important?
When it is time to replace the mantle, the torch ring is designed to be flame cut. By cutting through this ring, the locking pressure is released, and the mantle can be removed without damaging the expensive head nut or the main shaft. After each use, the ring must be replaced. It is a one-time consumable part, yet it protects components that cost many times more.
