The mantle and concave are the two primary wear components that form the crushing chamber in a cone crusher suitable for Sandvik CH and CS series. The mantle is the moving part that gyrates within the crusher, compressing the material against the concave – the stationary bowl liner that provides the fixed crushing surface. Together, they determine product size, shape, and overall crushing efficiency.
Manufacturing Process
ONA manufactures mantles and concaves suitable for Sandvik CH & CS series cone crushers using high-quality manganese steel, available in Mn13Cr2, Mn18Cr2, and Mn22Cr2 grades to match different crushing conditions.
The production process follows strict quality control at every stage:
Pattern Making: Precision molds are created based on original drawings.
Melting: Raw materials are carefully proportioned and melted in electric furnaces at controlled temperatures.
Casting: Advanced V-method (vacuum-sealed molding) or lost foam casting ensures smooth surfaces and precise dimensions.
Cleaning: Castings are shot-blasted and gates/risers are removed.
Heat Treatment: Solution treatment (water toughening) at 1050–1100°C gives the material a tough austenitic structure that work-hardens under impact.
Machining: Critical mating surfaces are precision-machined for accurate fit.
Quality Inspection: Every casting undergoes chemical analysis, hardness testing, dimensional inspection, and non-destructive testing (UT/MT).
Packaging: Rust-proof coating is applied, and parts are secured in wooden or steel frames for safe shipment.
Each step is documented with photos and inspection records, ensuring full traceability and consistent quality.
