Crusher is indispensable in many industrial fields such as mining, construction aggregate production, and garbage disposal. However, as the crusher continues to operate, a type of parts will gradually wear out, which are the crusher wear parts. So, what are the crusher wear parts? What are their characteristics and importance?

 

Definition of crusher wear parts

 

Crusher wear parts refer to parts that are in direct contact with the material during the operation of the crusher and gradually wear out over time due to friction, impact, extrusion and other forces. Every time these parts come into contact with the material, they will suffer a certain degree of wear until they are worn to the point that they cannot meet the requirements of the crushing work and need to be replaced.

 

Common types of crusher wear parts

 

1. Crushing chamber parts

- Jaw plate: The core jaw crusher wear parts are divided into movable jaw plate and fixed jaw plate. During the crushing process, the material is crushed by extrusion and bending between the two jaw plates. Due to the different hardness and shapes of the materials, the surface of the jaw plate will be constantly subjected to friction and impact, resulting in gradual wear of the surface and the appearance of grooves and depressions.

- Impact plate: In the impact crusher, the impact plate is responsible for re-crushing the materials that are hit and rebounded by the plate hammer and controlling the particle size of the materials. It is subjected to high-speed impact and friction of the materials for a long time, and the wear is more serious, especially in the areas where it frequently contacts the materials, the wear rate is faster.

2. Rotating parts

- Plate hammer: The key vulnerable parts of the impact crusher and hammer crusher. The plate hammer rotates at high speed to hit the materials to break them. When working, the plate hammer not only has to withstand huge impact force, but also has to overcome the friction resistance of the materials, so the wear is very severe. The wear of the plate hammer usually starts from the edge and gradually expands to the inside. When it is worn to a certain extent, its crushing efficiency and effect will be greatly reduced.

- Hammer head: The hammer crusher wear part , its function is similar to that of the plate hammer. During the crushing process, the hammer head directly collides with the material and is subjected to great impact and wear. The wear conditions of hammer heads of different materials and structures are also different. For example, the hammer head made of high manganese steel will produce work hardening after impact, which improves wear resistance, but as the use time increases, wear, breakage and other problems will still occur.

3. Other parts

- Liner: In cone crushers, ball mills and other equipment, the liner is used to protect the crusher cavity and reduce the direct wear of the material on the inner wall of the equipment. There is relative sliding and friction between it and the material. After working for a long time, the surface of the liner will gradually wear and become thinner, lose its protective effect, and need to be replaced in time.

-Screen plate: Some crushers are equipped with screen plates to control the particle size of the material after crushing. There are many screen holes on the screen plate, and the material is discharged through the screen holes. In this process, the screen plate will be rubbed and impacted by the material, and the screen holes may become larger and deformed, resulting in poor screening effect, thus affecting the entire crushing process.

 

Although crusher wear parts are only a part of the crusher, they play a vital role in the entire crushing process. The relevant knowledge of the wear parts of the crusher is of great significance to ensure the continuous operation of the crusher, improve production efficiency and reduce costs. In actual production, more attention should be paid to the selection, use and maintenance of wear parts, and more effective wear-resistant technology and management methods should be continuously improved to cope with the loss caused by wear parts and maximize economic benefits.
