Function: The Metso Nordberg pinion on the hydraulic motor rotates the gear on the bowl to adjust the discharge port, remove the bowl assembly, or replace the bowl liner.

The main functions of the Metso cone crusher hydraulic motor assembly include the following:

1. Adjusting the discharge port: The Metso hp500 hydraulic motor rotates the bowl, changing the distance between the mantle and concave to compensate for liner wear and adjust the discharge size.

2. Locking Function: The hydraulic system locks the bowl on the adjusting ring to prevent rotation during crushing, ensuring stable operation of the crusher.

3. Cavity Clearing Function: When the crusher is blocked, the hydraulic system clears the crushing chamber, allowing larger materials to exit the crushing chamber and ensure normal operation.

4. Overload Protection: During crushing, if unbroken material enters the crushing chamber, the thrust provided by the hydraulic cylinder will be lower than the pressure applied by the thrust plate on the working cylinder, causing a momentary increase in oil pressure. The throttle valve then operates to limit the thrust plate, protecting the machine.

5. Automatic Material Discharge: When the crushing chamber is filled with crushed stone, the hydraulic system automatically retracts the cone and discharges foreign material from the discharge port.

6. Automatic Recovery: When the hydraulic system's piston is in the retracted position, the system automatically recovers until the working cylinder's piston moves to the left, restoring the cone crusher to normal operation.
