1The head bushing is a component unique to cone crushers, and the design used in suitable for Nordberg HP series is a prime example of this—utilizing precision bronze bushings to support the moving cone’s gyratory motion, a structural feature found only in this type of crushing equipment. The ONA HP6 head bushing is a critical wear component installed inside the moving cone of crushers suitable for Nordberg HP6 models. Manufactured from high strength bronze alloy, it works in conjunction with the eccentric bushing and main shaft to provide the precise gyratory motion required for efficient crushing. As a direct replacement part, ONA head bushing guarantees reliable performance, extended service life, and seamless installation. Like all modern HP series crusher designs, the HP6 compatible head bushing utilizes a two piece split design consisting of an upper head bushing and a lower head bushing, which facilitates easier installation and allows for independent replacement based on wear patterns.

Key Features and Benefits
The ONA HP6 head bushing is precision‑machined from premium bronze alloy with optimized lubrication grooves and a split design, and is 100% tested to ensure an exact fit and reduced wear.
Technical Specifications & Model Coverage
The ONA HP6 head bushing features a two‑piece split design (upper and lower) and is manufactured from high‑strength bronze, with custom grades available upon request. Machining tolerances are held to ±0.02 mm on all critical diameters, and lubrication grooves are precision‑cut in spiral or longitudinal patterns to match original designs. ONA supplies head bushings suitable for all HP series models, including HP100, HP200, HP300, HP400, HP500, HP800, HP4, and HP6. Hardness is maintained at 180 HB or higher per customer requirements, and exact dimensions follow drawings or samples. For a guaranteed match, please contact ONA with your machine serial number or part number.
Recommended Components for Replacement
When replacing the head bushing, it is highly recommended to also inspect and replace the associated wear parts that share the same load and lubrication system. The eccentric bushing, thrust bearing, and main shaft sleeve work in direct contact with the head bushing, and mixing old components with new ones often leads to uneven wear and reduced service life. Additionally, seals and lock nuts should always be replaced during disassembly to ensure proper lubrication retention and reliable fastening. Replacing these key components together helps minimize future downtime, extends the overall crusher life, and ensures consistent performance.
The following components are commonly replaced alongside the head bushing. The eccentric bushing is installed inside the eccentric assembly and works directly with the head bushing to generate gyratory motion. The thrust bearing, both upper and lower, supports axial loads and maintains proper clearance between the head and main shaft. The main shaft sleeve protects the main shaft from wear and provides a smooth mating surface for the head bushing. The seal kit includes U-type and T-type seals that form a labyrinth sealing structure to prevent lubricant leakage, along with O rings for static sealing applications. The lock nut secures the head assembly to the main shaft and must be replaced to ensure proper torque.
